Sag Hollow Rules
The intent of these rules and regulations is to assure the mutual enjoyment of Sag Hollow Golf Course by all its members and guest. The obligation of enforcing these Rules and Regulations is placed primarily in the hands of Club Management whose principle responsibility is to ensure you of all the courtesies, comforts and services to which you, a member or guest are entitled. It is the duty of the membership of Sag Hollow Golf Course to know these Rules and Regulations and to cooperate in the enforcement thereof.
GENERAL CLUB RULES
1. The hours of operation at the Sag Hollow Golf Course will be established by management (Course Superintendent & Golf Professional) considering the season of the year and other circumstances.
2. The Golf Course Manager shall have full and complete charge of the clubhouse and grounds at all times.
3. It is contrary to the policy of the Club to have its facilities used for functions which are in any way related to past, present, or future fund raising efforts for the benefit of a political cause, except as specifically approved by the Owsley County Golf Association Board.
4. Members or guest may not abuse any of the Sag Hollow employees, verbally or otherwise. All employees of the club are under the supervision of the Golf Course Manager or Course Superintendent and no guest or member shall reprimand or discipline any employee or send any employee off the Club Facilities for any reason. Any employee not rendering courteous and prompt service should be reported to the Golf Course Manager or Course Superintendent.
5. Members must not request special personal services from employees.
6. Performance by entertainers will be permitted on the property of the Club only with the permission of the Owsley County Golf Association Board.
7. Commercial advertisements shall not be posted or circulated without the approval of the Owsley County Golf Association Board.
8. The golf course property may not be used for any purposes except golf without the approval of the OCGA board. Picnicking, biking, kite flying, soccer, football, skateboarding, and similar activities are not permitted. General walking on the course is permitted only with permission of the Golf Course Manager.
GENERAL GOLF RULES
1. All members and guest must register in the Golf Shop before
beginning play.
2. “Cutting-in” is not permitted any time.
3. Practice is not allowed on the golf course.
4. If a foursome or other group of players fails to keep their place on the course and loses more than one clear hole on the players ahead, they must allow the following group to play through.
5. All players who stop after playing nine holes for any reason must occupy the next tee before the following players arrive at the tee or they will lose their position on the golf course and must get permission to resume play.
6. Enter and leave bunkers at the nearest level point to the green. Smooth sand over with a rake upon leaving.
7. Repair all ball marks on the green.
8. Replace all divots.
9. Each player must have his or her own set of golf clubs.
10. All tournament play must be approved in advance by the OCGA board.
11. To lease or operate a golf cart a person must be 16 years of age and possess a valid driver license.
12. Soft spike golf shoes only.
13. Sag Hollow Golf Course is available to the Owsley County and Jackson County Golf teams for practice and team matches; however, the practice and matches must be under the direct supervision of the golf coaches. Course usage by other high school teams require the approval of the OGCA board
14. No one under the age of 13 is permitted to play without being accompanied by an adult member or adult guest.
15. If lightning is in the area, all play shall cease and players should seek appropriate shelter immediately.
16. Golf carts are to remain on cart paths at all times on all par 3’s,
17. Only two golf bags and two passengers are permitted on a golf cart.
18. Twosomes should not expect to play through foursomes and shall not exert pressure on the groups ahead. Foursomes shall have the right of way.
19. Golf carts are not permitted on any teen area or within 30 feet of the greens.
ATTIRE
1. Appropriate golf attire is expected at all times on the golf course. Shirts
with collars and sleeves, slacks, skirts, jeans, golf warm-ups, rain gear and golf shorts are considered appropriate attire. Not permitted are tank tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cutoffs, bathing suits, or tennis shorts.
2. Improperly dressed golfers will be asked to change before playing. If you are in doubt concerning your attire, please check with the Golf Course Manager before starting play.
